What this looks like in practice

In a typical licensed child-care setting, staff prepare for emergencies by learning CPR for infants, toddlers, and adults. They practice using an AED and basic safety skills with a trainer. Parents can expect to see this training happen during scheduled sessions, with hands-on practice. Note that this is not a certification course; no certificate is given. For details, contact the center at 802-685-2264.

Knowing CPR for infants, toddlers, and adults helps a parent respond calmly in an emergency. The skills you practice — rescue breaths, chest compressions, using an AED — stay with you. At home, that readiness means you can act quickly if a child stops breathing or chokes. It is one more way to keep the children you love safe, whether at the center or in your own living room.
