Family/Child Home Visits

Our home visitor staff will visit anyone, at home or out in the community, who would like this service – from a one-time informational visit to regular in-home support. Each visit is tailored to meet the needs and interests of the child(ren) or the entire family.

One parent put it this way: “I was hesitant to allow a home visitor in my home, but I immediately felt supported and not judged due to my circumstances. My home visitor helped me set goals and supported me in achieving them. Because of this I am a better parent.

Three young children crouch on a grassy lawn, with one child holding a small magnifying glass near the ground while the others look on.

What this looks like in practice

The visit happens in your space, so the visitor sees your routines as they really are. You might walk through a bedtime question, talk about a behavior that shows up at home, or ask for ideas on a developmental concern. If you need another program or service, your visitor makes the referral. Some families start with a single informational visit and decide from there.

In practice, the help shows up in small moments. A routine that felt like a standoff gets easier. A worry you have been carrying gets named and answered. If you want more than conversation, your visitor can connect you to other programs or walk you through a new approach until it fits. You stay the parent; the visitor supports the goals you set. org or call 802-685-2264.
